Z-566-1- Codename: "Candlebrutes", are larger, bulkier and more hateful versions of Z-566.
Discovered in 2024 during the annual ████████ Graveyard's "Raveyard" event in Eastern Scotland, after an EXR-P expedition party sent to shut it down fell into the lower levels of the graveyard's catacombs. After being brought back to base for a debrief, they mentioned the graveyard's decorative statues in the lower levels becoming aggressive and chasing them through the crypt. Operatives were sent to investigate and found the living statues in the lower crypt. It was also discovered that the 3 larger Candlebearer monuments located on the graveyard plot were sentient as well, and were sent to the Blacksite for containment and study.
Each individual Z-566-1 instance is identical in terms of appearance and behavior. Nicknamed "Candlebrutes", playing off their smaller counterpart, each monument measures around 35 studs tall. In terms of appearance, besides the height, Z-566-1 is identical to Z-566, except for its innards. Instead of deconstructing one of the monuments, an ultrasound was performed. It was revealed that compared to its smaller counterpart, Z-566-1 6 non-functional hearts instead of just 1. As with Z-566, their inclusion is believed to be for occult reasons, with extra hearts added to fuel the behemoth.
Z-566-1 instances cannot move whilst large amounts of light are cast upon them, natural or artificial. Unlike Z-566, small handheld light sources are not sufficient to fully freeze Z-566-1 instances, however, they do still slow them down. Testing has shown that when light touches an instance's skin, the stone particles harden to prevent light from passing through any small cracks, as light seems to burn it. During a test, a Z-566 instance was put under a spotlight, and a part of its upper chest was then struck with a pickaxe, exposing its blood veins. After being exposed to the light for 36 minutes, the exposed vein burst into flames. After 2 minutes of burning, the fire stopped. Once the light was turned off again, the instance remained inanimate and was declared dead. It is to be presumed that should a Z-566-1 instance be put through the same experiment with more light, it too would burn. Z-566 instances are normally dormant and are not hostile to humans. The same cannot be said about Z-566-1 however. Whether or not a light source is present, Z-566-1 will always try to chase, attack, and bludgeon any human to death with their rock arm. They're heavy, and their swings are usually slow, making them easy to dodge. It is currently unknown why these monuments are so much more aggressive compared to their smaller counterpart, but it is assumed that they serve a parental role. It is theorized that should all Z-566 and Z-566-1 instances be transported back to the graveyard, they will cease their hostility. No such test has been performed, however, several Z-566 instances have already been sold, and it wouldn't be profitable to bring the flock back together to test a mere theory. Should a Z-566-1 be slowed by an individual for too long. seemingly out of annoyance, it will snap out of its slowed state and become extremely agitated, lighting its head candle with a blue flame. While in this state, Z-566-1 is not able to be slowed and chases the light bearer at faster speeds than before. After a short while, this effect wears off, and the instance can be slowed once again. This only seems to happen if it's slowed by an individual, rather than with fixed light sources. The three Z-566-1 instances have been deemed of no monetary value, and are now being kept in storage until a method of successful frontline battle is discovered.
