The best way to avoid Angler is to hide before it rushes through the room. Make sure to not hide too early, or you will be forced out of your hiding spot due to [[Hiding#Cleithrophobia|cleithrophobia]].
Angler uses a raycasting hitbox to create its line of sight, so hiding in places that cover your character completely (including office cubicles, separate hallways, and vents) will work in evading Angler.
