The Back Area is a room type in Pressure, distinguished by its dim lighting and its unique property of stairwells connecting to multiple doors that lead to the same room.
Overview
The Back Area begins with the player entering a room with a stairwell. This stairwell connects to multiple doors that lead to the next room, one of them being below a catwalk and the other being on the catwalk. Both doors above and below leading to the next room are numbered the same.
There are side doors that can be found that allow the player to navigate to and from the catwalk above. Players are given many opportunities to go between the top and bottom floors.
There are hiding spots and offshoot areas littered around each room, allowing players to find hiding spots easily in the event that a node monster spawns.
Turrets can spawn inside the Back Area, often multiple at a time. Despite the many twists and bends, one must take caution as the tight halls can make avoiding detection difficult.
Unique Features
- Good People cannot spawn, due to the lack of fake doors.
- The Back Area is the first room type to have two doors with navi-path numbers that are both correct paths.
- All node monsters always follow the bottom path, making it easy to avoid them by going on the catwalk. Pandemonium, however, still requires the player to find a hiding spot.
