The Let-Vand zone is the heart and center of the Hadal Blacksite. Discovered in 1961 after the "████████████" B-class cargo ship sunk during a storm to the West of Iceland in the Norwegian Sea, recovery teams discovered a previously unknown abyssal trench, measuring at a depth of 76400 studs. At 67320 studs depth, a phenomenon taking place where the water pressure suddenly shifts from the typical oceanic floor crushing depth to that of a swimming pool. Anything below the 67320 stud depth is referred to as "The Let-Vand zone", and anything above will simply be referred to as the ocean. The "Veil of the Let-Vand zone" is the line where the pressure shifts. To pass through said veil, all of the Urbanshade submarines are outfitted with jet engines, allowing them to boost up to 2300000 studs-per-hour, and easily pierce the veil. The veil essentially acts as the Blacksites inorganic blockade, preventing any living organism from entering or exiting. Attempting to go through the veil without proper equipment would result in immediate implosion from the sheer pressure shift.

After this discovery, Urbanshade quickly swooped in to blacklist the newly discovered information before the maps of the world could be updated. The construction of the Hadal Blacksite began in 1962, with construction finishing in 1974.

As stated above, the water in the Let-Vand zone is incredibly light. Light enough that even without a proper Tungvest, divers can swim with only the bare minimum diving equipment needed without the fear of implosion. This also means that it's ideal for construction, as the minimal pressure means that the foundation and structural integrity can be kept on the lower end, saving a fortune in both reinforcement materials and expedition equipment.

The Let-Vand zone was picked as the location for the Blacksite due to its concealment from the world. No fear of public interference, no worries about possible satellite imagery, and most importantly, no fear of any possible form of information leaks in the event of a breach. The isolation has allowed us to be exempt from national law, allowing for easier experimentation and product testing without the worry of interference from any sort of Safety and Health inspection agencies.

Due to its location, the Hadal Blacksite needs to be constantly resupplied from the mainland. A series of ports built on the coasts of Iceland, Scotland, Norway, and Denmark, allow for easy supply lines to and from the mainlands. Most of the docks are disguised as typical civilian docks, with a small handful being fully dedicated military-purpose docks. These docks are usually built into cliffs and caves, to be concealed more easily.
