The following page details guidelines what kind of files can be uploaded, and how to categorize them.

Before You Upload

Before you upload a file, you should keep these things in mind:

• Don't upload images obtained from game files or assets. Violations will result in a warning, but can lead to a block if you continue to upload these images while being aware that they violate this policy.
• File names should be specific about what they are used for. (Eg. do not upload "Angler.png", instead look for a better name like "Angler Screenshot 2.png")
• Don't upload files that already exist on the wiki. This includes images that differ in resolution and background. Several images of the same monster in different contexts should be avoided unless they are important. (Eg. One image of regular angler ingame, one image of eyeless Angler)
• Don't upload files without adding it to a page. The point of files is for them to be used, if you can't think of a use, don't upload it.
• If the file is for your user page, categorize it under the correct user category. User images should also not contain mainspace categories.
• Categorize every file appropriately according to this policy, and dont forget to write a short description for each file if possible.

User Files

Files may be uploaded for personal use outside of mainspace articles. These can go on your user profile or user subpages. Be sure to categorize it under the respective category: User Images, User Audio, or User Videos. Only use these categories for personal files, all other categories are reserved for files used on articles.

Categories

All files should be categorized typically only under one category. The following list shows all mainspace categories, which are reserved for files used on main articles.

Overhead Categories

These are categories only meant to organize other categories, and thus should not be added to individual files. The sole exception is the Videos category, which currently has no mainspace subcategories.

Category	Usage & Description
Category:Files	Used to organise and house file categories.
Category:Wiki Files	Used to organise and house all files related to direct wiki functioning (eg. theme images, icons, etc). Do not add this to any files.
Category:Images	Used to organise and house image categories.
Category:Audio	Used to organise and house audio categories.
Category:Videos	Used to organise and house video categories.

Image Categories

Category	Usage & Description
Category:Badge Images	Used for images of Badge icons.
Category:Document Images	Used for images of Documents.
Category:Emoji Images	Used for images used in wiki emojis.
Category:Icon Images	Used for images used as infoicons and other wiki icons.
Category:Infobox Images	Used for images used in Infoboxes. This category should be added to images alongside a main category.
Category:Item Images	Used for images of items.
Category:Location Images	Used for images of locations.
Category:Misc Images	Used for images that do not fit under any other categories.
Category:Monster Images	Used for images of monsters.
Category:Screenshots	Used for unedited screenshots.
Category:User Images	Used for images exclusively used on user pages.

Audio Categories

Category	Usage & Description
Category:Game Audio	Used for gameplay-related audio (eg. GUI sounds, ambience, etc).
Category:Item Audio	Used for audio produced by items.
Category:Misc Audio	Used for audio that do not fit under any other categories.
Category:Monster Audio	Used for audio produced by or related to monsters.
Category:User Audio	Used for audio exclusively used on user pages.

Video Categories
