S-Q, codenamed "Squiddles" are hostile monsters in Pressure, acting as one of the main threats within the Hadal Blacksite.

Appearance

Squiddles are large pitch, black humanoid creatures that lack arms or legs, replaced by eight tentacles attached to the bottom of their torso in a circular pattern with white glowing spikes in place of suction cups and a variety of white glowing facial designs, both of which are only visible when aggravated.

Mechanics

Squiddles appear within dark rooms as well as rooms that have been made dark by other monsters. They are docile until aggravated by either shining lights on them or standing too close for too long, after which they will lunge toward the player that has provoked them, dealing a decent amount of damage and temporarily obscuring the player's vision with their body.

Notes

  • Squiddles may not be aggravated by the player standing close to them under certain circumstances.
    • These circumstances include having to hide near a Squiddle or accessing or unlocking a door that a Squiddle is too close to.
  • Certain light sources will not aggravate squiddles, these include the Blacklight, the Flash Beacon and the Splorglight

The Ridge

For more information, see: The Ridge

Squiddles are capable of spawning in every single room in [[The Ridge] in much higher numbers than usual as there are no fully lit rooms.

Strategy

The most effective way to avoid being attacked by Squiddles is by being very conservative when using light sources, or by only utilizing light sources that do not provoke Squiddles. It is advised to avoid using large light sources such as the Lantern in open areas, as you might disturb Squiddles that aren't fully in view or are behind you.

The Flash Beacon can also be used to the player's advantage as the short flash of light does not aggravate Squiddles either.
