Z-283-Blitz, codenamed “Blitz”, is a hostile monster in Pressure, acting as one of the threats that players will encounter.

Appearance

Blitz resembles a heavily malformed gray viperfish, with numerous sharp, thin teeth and three pupils in its right eye socket. Its features are distorted, with its open mouth taking up the majority of its face.

Blitz is constantly obscured by a thick dark smoke, obscuring everything aside from its face. Blitz uses a billboard decal for its face, resulting in it always looking directly at the player.

Mechanics

Blitz has a chance to spawn if the player’s current or previous room has a valid hiding spot. The lights will briefly flicker twice, and Blitz will begin advancing from behind while emitting quiet sounds.

When Blitz is close enough to the player, it will start screeching loudly, signalling for players to hide. During its final screech, Blitz will rush quickly through the room, instantly killing all players in its path before disappearing after passing through. Players who hide in time or escape its line of sight before it passes through will be safe.

Blitz, because of the darkness of his long life, had very poor eyesight, and could safely elude Blitz by staying away from his path. Such as a fork in the road, stairs above or below, some large room corner.

Notes

  • Blitz cannot spawn in The Control Room.
    • Blitz can still spawn in the hallways of Sebastian’s Shop, but it cannot enter the shop.
  • Blitz and other Angler variants cannot currently attack from the front.
  • After a player spends a set amount of time in a room, there is a chance for Blitz or any other node monster to spawn. This is called a timer spawn.
  • Here's a little trick. If the room is an l-shaped or other room with a corner, and the road is not very long, you can squat on the corner and get close to the last door, it's also a good idea to have an obstacle next to you. Blitz won't attack you. I don't know if this is intentional.

The Ridge

Blitz will spawn more frequently in The Ridge, and the lights will not flicker to signal its arrival. Players have to rely on their hearing and their muscle memory instead of visual cues. While attacking in The Ridge, its sounds will be heard from a longer distance.

Strategy

The best way to avoid Blitz is to hide before it rushes through the room. Blitz moves considerably faster than Angler, so you need to react faster. Make sure to not hide too early, or you will be forced out of your hiding spot due to cleithrophobia. You can also avoid Blitz by hiding outside of its line of sight in places like seperate rooms and inside vents.

Blitz uses Raycasting to create its line of sight, so hiding places that cover your character completely (such as office cubicles) or hiding places that are far enough away from Blitz (seperate hallways) also work to protect you.

  • Blitz is a variant of Angler, sharing the same basic mechanics.
  • There are multiple variants of Angler. These include Froger, Chainsmoker, and Pinkie These are respectively referred to in documents as Z-283-Froger, Z-283-Chainsmoker, and Z-283-Pinkie.
  • Blitz is said to be a guy.
  • Blitz’s unused design is now used for the design of Death Angel.
  • Blitz and Chainsmoker currently use the Angler jumpscare instead of having their own. This is likely to change in the official release.
