Harbinger (formerly known as Death Angel, and briefly known as Mr. Kill.) is a monster that spawns extremely rarely in Pressure within the Endless Expedition.
Appearance
Harbinger resembles a bluish-grey human skull with empty eye sockets, a detached smiling bottom jaw, and long tendril-like teeth. It is clouded in a lingering black shadow that obscures everything aside from its face. Similarly to all Angler variants and Pandemonium, Harbinger will always face the player, regardless of which angle they view it from.
Mechanics
When Harbinger spawns, all lights will quickly become red, all objects that can be opened will rapidly do so for a few seconds. Music will start to play and Harbinger will begin slowly advancing.
Harbinger knows where players reside, no matter where they hide. The only way for a player to survive past the moment Harbinger reaches them is to hide in a locker.
If a player is in a locker as Harbinger passes, they will be forced into a minigame similar to Pandemonium's. Like Pandemonium, Harbinger attacks the locker to drain the player's energy, except at a much more aggressive pace. Harbinger will also repeatedly shift the position of the circle's reticle for every locker bang. Harbinger's minigame timer has no end, keeping the player locked in the minigame until they die.
Dying to Harbinger will have Sebastian state the encounter was "just unfair", with Sebastian even giving the player a "free revive, on the house".
Once Harbinger despawns, objects will stop rapidly opening and closing. Any rooms with red lights as a result of Harbinger's activity will remain red for the rest of the match, until players proceed and the rooms despawn.
Notes
- Harbinger spawns exclusively in the Endless Expedition (with the exception of admin-exclusive commands).
- Harbinger makes a quiet static sound when spawned, similar to The Multi-Monster.
- A quiet song can be heard during its minigame, which turns out to be an edited variant of "Light Reading Material".[1]
- Harbinger's minigame is infinitely long.[2]
- There are currently 7 known phases to the minigame that have been recorded.[3]
- The first phase consists of the circle in the middle frequently changing locations.
- The second phase introduces a red circle that moves every time the first circle moves, seemingly at random, and drains the player's energy at a significant rate if their cursor is on it.
- The third phase will cause the white circle to vanish for brief periods. The player's passive energy loss is reduced while the circle is hidden.
- The fourth phase will cause the white circle to shrink significantly.
- The fifth phase works the same as the third phase, but with the shrunken circle.
- The sixth phase adds a second red circle of similar behavior to the already existing one.
- The seventh phase works the same as the third and fifth phases, but with the addition of the red circle.
- There are currently 7 known phases to the minigame that have been recorded.[3]
- The earliest Harbinger has been recorded spawning was at door 26 in endless mode.[4]
- Dying to Harbinger will award you with the "Death Incarnate" achievement.
- Unlike in Pandemonium's minigame, the player's energy will not be restored when their cursor is thrown around.
Strategy
There is no known strategy to survive an encounter with Harbinger, as its minigame is never-ending; hiding in a locker only delays an inevitable death. Such a demise is evident in its removed document: ”If you encounter this, we’re sorry, there is no counter.”
- SPR-INTS can be used to outrun Harbinger, but this is only a means of stalling; it will inevitably catch up.
- It is more efficient to die to a Harbinger upon an encounter rather than stall it, since you will be granted a free revive.

Trivia
- Harbinger is not a canon monster. [5]
- Harbinger's current design is said to be an unused design for Blitz. [6]
- The skull designs on Code Breachers are images of Harbinger. However, if you drop a Code Breacher, the skull design on it will be different.
- Instead of displaying "Keep the circle in the middle", the text will instead say "Good Luck".
- Before the "Friendly Fire" update, it said keep the circle in the middle.
- Before the "Friendly Fire" update, Harbinger would never attack the locker. [7]
- Prior to the Four Point Five update, Harbinger was named Death Angel.
- For a short while, Death Angel was called Mr. Kill before the name Harbinger was revealed.
- The reason for this was so people didn’t confuse the name Death Angel with Lady Death.
- Harbinger was originally going to be called Lady Death before she became a separate character.
