Death Screens are an important game mechanic in Pressure, showing players information after death.
Overview
Death occurs if a player's Health reaches 0. When a player dies, they are sent to Sebastian's room, where they are shown the file of the monster they died to before being given the option to Revive, play again, or go back to the Lobby.
Documents
Monster document
When a player dies, they first meet Sebastian Solace, who shows them the document of the monster they died to. The first time the player dies to a certain monster, most of the lines are redacted, but they get unredacted on subsequent deaths to the same monster. Sebastian also gives them small bits of advice with his voice lines.
Result document
After viewing the monster document, the player is shown a second document, detailing the results of their run. This document includes:
- Room number reached
- Amount of Research
collected
- Whether or not the player collected the crystal
- Friend Bonus
All these factors contribute to the amount of Kroner the player receives, which is shown at the bottom of the document.
The document also shows:
- The name and an image of the monster the player died to
- An Overseer comment
However, these do not contribute to the final Kroner count.
Overseer Comments
On the result document, the player receives an Overseer comment based on which monster they died to. The comment acts as a description of what happened to the player.
