Death

Death Screens are an important game mechanic in Pressure, showing information to players after death.

Overview

Death happens when a player's Health is dropped to 0. When a player dies, they are sent to Sebastian's room, where they can choose to Revive or go back to the Lobby.

Death Document

If the player dies, they will be shown a document detailing how their run went. This document includes:

• Room Number Reached.
• Amount of Research collected.
• Whether or not the player collected the crystal.
• Friend Bonus

All of these will contribute to the amount of Kroner the player will receive, shown at the bottom of the document.

The document will also show:

• The name and an image of the monster the Player died to.
• An Overseer comment.

These do not contribute to the Kroner the player will receive.

Overseer Comments

On the Death Document, the player will receive an Overseer comment. This comment pertains to the monster the player died to, and is meant to describe what happened to them.

"EXR-P was unable to find a proper hiding spot in as Z-283-Pinkie was passing through the area. Notably, the light bulbs in the sector weren't destroyed like they normally would be."
Stood out in the open while Froger was passing by.	"EXR-P was unable to find a proper hiding spot in as Z-283-Froger was passing through the area. Notably, Z-283-Froger seemed to be aware of the EXR-P's presence, doing a secondary sweep of the sector."
Stood out in the open while Blitz was passing by.	"EXR-P did not manage to find a proper hiding spot in time as Z-283-Blitz was passing through. Notably, CCTV did not capture any images of Z-283-Blitz during time of death, as the FPS on the camera was too low."
Left the locker while Chainsmoker was passing by.	"EXR-P was able to find a hiding spot as Z-283-Chainsmoker was passing through the area, but seemingly got out on their own accord. Reasoning behind this action is unknown." "Z-283-Chainsmoker is constantly exhaling gas that seemingly made the hiding EXR-P exit their hiding place. EXR-P was possibly entranced by the gas' smell to leave their hiding place willingly?"
Stood out in the open while Pandemonium passed through, or failed its minigame.	"EXR-P was consumed by Z-367 after being spotted. As usual, no remains." "EXR-P was spotted by Z-367 and hunted down."

Eyefestation

Cause of Death	Overseer Comments
Stared at Eyefestation for too long.	"Z-317 appeared outside the window of the room that EXR-P was in, forcing them to look at it and turning their brain to mush." "EXR-P's brain was fried after an encounter with Z-317."
Enraged Eyefestation, then stared at it for too long.	"EXR-P used a flash beacon on Z-317, seemingly hoping the blinding light would scare it off. This had the opposite effect however, enraging Z-317." "EXR-P, sowing: 'Yeah!!! This is awesome!!!'. EXR-P, reaping: 'What the hell??? This sucks!!!.'"
Outraged Eyefestation, then stared at it for too long.	"Despite not scaring it off with the flash beacon the first time, EXR-P decided it'd be a splendid idea to try the same thing a secondary time, which, unsurprisingly, yielded the same result as before."

Aggravated a Squiddle.	"EXR-P collapsed after aggravating an S-Q instance." "EXR-P, failing to comprehend personal space, was killed after aggravating an S-Q instance." This Overseer comment can only appear if the player aggravates a Squiddle by standing close to it. "After turning hostile, an S-Q instance attacked and killed the EXR-P."
Eaten by a Wall Dweller.	"EXR-P was attacked, killed, and consumed by a Z-90 instance, leaving nothing but their diving tank behind." "After emerging from a wall, a Z-90 instance snuck up on the EXR-P, attacked, and ate them."
Tried to enter a locker that had a Puddle of Void-Mass.	"Whilst frantically searching for a place to hide, EXR-P accidentally opened a locker containing a Z-V06 instance, was pulled inside and promptly digested." "During an attack, EXR-P managed to find a locker to hide in. They did not check the locker's contents before opening it, however." "In a moment of panic, EXR-P did not check the locker they were about to hide in, and was consumed by a Z-V06 instance." "EXR-P was apt enough to utilize a locker to hide in. Unfortunately, they seemed to suffer from chronic obliviousness, as they were digested by the Z-V06 instance inside."

Spotted by a Searchligh after they had gotten the crystal.	"Whilst repairing the Exterior Repellent systems cables, EXR-P was snatched by a Vultus Limunaria that had entered the area. EXR-P is dead, but Z-1 should be recoverable once the Vultus Limunaria tries to digest it."

Hazards

Eaten by parasites.	"EXR-P, despite being previously warned, was consumed after leaving the safety of the lights by the Let-Vand zone's fauna." "EXR-P decided it'd be a good idea to disregard the advice previously given and swam outside the safe zone provided by the lights. They were shortly after consumed by parasites, after not swimming back."
Executed by HQ via the PDG.	"EXR-P decided it'd be a brilliant idea to disobey their orders, and was promptly executed." "After disobeying orders, the EXR-P's diving gear was detonated remotely."
Shot by a malfunctioning PDG. (Speakers)	"Z-779 has hijacked some of the older non-secure speakers and has started playing classical music. The audio frequency seems to interfere with the PDG's signals, triggering them without HQ input."
Crushed by a Trenchbleeder.	"Despite its overwhelming presence, EXR-P did not swim out of its way and was crushed under the Bleeder's heel. I pity the poor schmuck who has to scrape their smear off that thing's foot."
