The Educator is a hostile monster in Pressure, that could originally be encountered during the 2024 April Fools event, and is now encountered in the Endless Expedition

Appearance

The Educator is identical to Baldi from Baldi's Basics but with a frown, a blue shirt, and green pants.

Mechanics

The Educator, once spawned through pressing the Evil Button (now able to spawn in doors 500+ in Endless Mode), will begin advancing toward the player through set increments indicated by ruler slaps. If The Educator catches the player, they will be instantly killed. The Educator will speed up as the player advances, moving larger distances in shorter increments.

The Educator can be stunned for 10 seconds with the Flash Beacon but will move faster for three ruler slaps afterward.

Encounter

Educator Mode

Upon pressing the Evil Button during the 2024 April Fools Event, Educator Mode activates. In place of both grand encounter chances, The Educator's schoolhouse is guaranteed to spawn if he is active. In this schoolhouse, the player must find and solve math problems in notebooks in order to collect them. Once they have collected all notebooks in the schoolhouse the exit door will open.

During the first encounter, there are only 7 notebooks to collect, all containing addition and subtraction problems. During the second encounter, there are 10 notebooks to collect, with the questions being more difficult. The Angler will also spawn during the encounter, rushing through the schoolhouse.

Endless Expedition

Beginning at door 500 of the Endless Expedition, The Educator and his schoolhouse would a chance to replace a given Grand Encounter, the 7 notebook and 10 notebook schoolhouses both being possible at any time. Unlike in Educator Mode, The Angler (as well as Pandemonium) is capable of spawning during the 7 notebook encounter. Regardless of the encounter, The Educator will not follow the player out of his schoolhouse upon exit.

The Educator and his schoolhouse are otherwise identical to their encounters in Educator Mode.

This was later removed after the release of the Four Point Five update.

Notes

  • The Educator is client-sided, meaning that each player in a lobby has their own unique Educator that only they can see and interact with.
  • If a player dies to The Educator, Sebastian Solace will refuse to show them his document. Just like Mr. Lopee, The Educator stands beside Sebastian during the cutscene.
    • Unlike Mr. Lopee however, it was originally possible to obtain The Educator's document by completing Evil Mode.
  • The Educator is able to phase through walls.
  • Even if you haven't pressed the Evil Mode button, you can still hear The Educator when you get a question wrong in the notebook.

Strategy

For more information, see: April Fools Event 2024

The Educator can be easily outpaced if you have enough room to make distance, as he only moves a set distance. As The Educator is client-sided, you can only interact with and see your own instance of The Educator. Stalling The Educator is ineffective, as he can catch up very quickly.

Luring The Educator to one corner of the schoolhouse and moving to collect a notebook on the other side is generally considered the safest strategy, although it does take time. Avoid using the flash beacon on him unless absolutely needed, as he will speed up after recovering. Make sure to keep moving at all times to avoid him catching up.

Trivia

  • The Educator is based off of the titular antagonist Baldi from Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning.
    • The Educator's appearance resembles more of the character BADSUM from the same aforementioned game, although this was likely unintentional.
  • The "Evil Button" was supposed to be released on April 1st, 2024, however, due to delays was released instead on April 17th, 2024.
  • Despite being an April Fools character, not only does The Educator have it's own document, but Zerum has also confirmed the canonicity of The Educator.[1]
  • There exists a current bug where if you die to The Educator and revive, he will disappear for you in that Schoolhouse, until you get to another one.[2] If there are other players with you, The Educator will only disappear for you, unless they revive too.
